They are much lighter and easier to carry around. They usually came on
all the 240D's after about 1980 or so. Bascially anything that didnt
have bundts.

automatic, 82, 240D. It has them (no white or silver markings tho)
including the wheel covers with the rollers..yaahoo. I also have

Larry - did you change the oil when you bought the car, or is still
running the oil that the PO put in it? If it's still the PO's oil, it
will reflect his/her driving habits (could be a lot of short trips).

higher number is the "real" viscosity, and the lower number is how the
oil reacts in cold temperatures. That is, a 0W40 oil is a 40 wt. oil,
that maintains a viscosity similar to a 0 wt. oil at 0 degrees C., or

Lots of possibilities! Worst case is a leaking injection pump,
requiring rebuild, but that won't be 3% very long more like 50%.
Unless you are "making" oil (level rises on dipstick!), not a worry.
