First I would hit the right side of the center console, on the carpet just right of the heater and radio. This is where the vacuum unit is, they are know for having bad solder joints thus hitting there you will often hear a click and then things start working in which case it will need resoldered.

I finally got a chance to get under the car today. The oil pan comes out with the engine in the car - but lifted as high as it goes. Everything went per the manual (engine 01-310.pdf) except that the manual doesn't mention the bottom two tranny to engine bolts that actually thread into the oil pan
