I followed Loren's advice and did a clean Vista install. I then installed
all the updates, including ser pack 2. I'm told that Vista is not a bad
system after the updates, we'll see.
So far its cooking good.

We have an Oreck. It's a good vacuum, better than the Royal it replaced, but I
don't think they really live up to the legend. Open one up to change the
belt---it's all plastic and the motor doesn't look like much. Hotels use them
because they are light and they vacuum every day---they never

My fog lights work great, a nice yellow wide spread (thanks Daniel
Stern for the proper bulbs), very close to the car but that's what
they are supposed to do. They do light up the edges of the road, but
not far enough to really be good deer-spotters. High beams are what I
use for that.

That linux-burn-the-program-to-a-CD utility works quite nicely, takes
about 5 min once you get the CD burned. Boot off the CD, the program

Well, the AC BLOWS ICE COLD and it has leatherette, but not clear if it
can be converted to veggie oil or not, or if it gets 40mpg. It is RARE
though, so maybe something on the order of $10k or so.

Bios password is a whole different game than a Windows password, fortunately
its easier to defeat. All you have to do is reset the bios, usually by pulling
all power from it. There will probably be a battery on the motherboard...

Did the idler arm, steering damper and drag link because AFAIK you don't need
an alignment after those. I got the tie rods too but those will need to wait
until I can get an alignment scheduled.

The darting issue may very well go away with new wheel bearings.
My old Volvo was a real pain to drive for the same reason, almost a
new car when I put proper bearings in.

just figured that a 602 would fit easier, or with more options about
how to place it in the engine compartment.

There are very few metal vacuums out there these days. My parent's Oreck
has lasted 10 years and shows no signs of quitting despite it's chassis' all
plastic construction. I guess we'll see how long the screw holes last with
disassembly and reassembly for cleaning and belt replacements over
