Make sure it has the correct 0-rings installed and is tightened
properly. If the center bolt is not properly tight, it can shake loose.

I second what Rick said. This is the best one-person bleeding solution I've
found (I bought but it's easy enough to make). Just don't let the container
run dry while you're bleeding and you may need to suck a little bit back out
of the master cyl reservoir when done. No excuse not to bleed brake

Bad brake light filaments will stop a CC dead (they ground through
the filament, so that when you apply brakes and the lamp comes on
there is no voltage potential through the amplifier and it stops).
Either or both filaments out will cause this
A bad speed sensor in the cluster at the spee
There's a nice tutorial on Jim Cathey's site which will help narrow the cause
down to a major component. My bet is on the CC circuit board.

would not think the plugs would really be an issue at that ambient temp.

The problem is some folks use RTV as a gasket where of it squeezes out and
breaks off inside the engine. And those little chunks are great at plugging
oil passages.
