surfaces will cause water vapor to condense, which shows up as the fog
cloud (or ripples as the case might be). You see that a lot in the

White smoke is unburnt fuel. Check the glow plugs. Even if one or two are bad,
the light may not indicate it. I had the same problem recently. Rusty will
price match whoever has the lowest price. Currently that is Rock Auto. Buy all
five, I had two bad ones, and another went bad a week later.
I forgot to say how. Pull the plug off of the glow plug relay that goes to the
glow plugs. Test for resistance. Bosch glow plugs should read 0.6 ohms or there
abouts with an accurate meter. Beru will read a little lower (I have Bosch in
one car, Beru in the other.) Any that read open or over 1

The real issues are the transmission having an over-broad neutral.
Nylon bushings?
Checked cold ATF and it was over full. After the test drive, with
engine running, stick was dry.
Normal, for low fluid. Needs more ATF.
Oil pressure indicator does not peg. Light off, got pressure close
looks like a pretty clean car with zero rust showing.
Look closer!

Final verdict... board melted beyond repair. Basically burned through
at the relay. Motors are fine, so the relay must have gone south.
The damage: new board, $387 + tax, plus diagnostic and installation
labor... $600 total. Ouch, who says fancy high-efficiency furnaces save
you money???
