Don't forget that those fuel taxes pay for the highways and bridges, but only to build them. Should be much higher in order to maintain those roads and highways in decent shape, the Federal taxes are the same as they were in the 70's and things are MUCH more expensive now! Peter _

A bad axle will not show looseness, that has to be either a wheel bearing (brake disk will move in and out with the hub, strut mount will NOT move) or a bad ball joint. I'd vote for a wheel bearing. If they are the standard front wheel drive type, they are double race ball bearing permanen
