Maybe years ago when I was dumb before online forums etc I did try it

Burning used motor oil in your diesel will greatly shorten engine life. Lots
of phosphates and organo-metallics that make abrasive ash when burned, just
like running one with bad valve guides.

Distributorless, coils come in two packs, one coil pack, two coils and two
plugs per cylinder. Coil wires are about 6-8" long IIRC.

No different than the transfer case on the MLs. They’re ”sealed for life”. Mine
has some schmutz on the drain plug that looks like sealant to tell if it’s been
tampered with.
I’m going to deal with that this weekend - transfer case and both diffs are
getting oil changes.
