I took a couple to a salvage yard maybe 3 years ago, can’t remember how much I got for them but it wasn’t a lot. Here we need to get a license from the sheriff to trade in non-ferrous metals so they tend to keep track of those things. I think they instituted that when copper thefts were rampant.

Sounds like the vacuum shut off valve on top of the injection pump has failed.  Check the connections to it for soundness.  Make a temporary connection that you can stick one end in your mouth, and see if you can suck the lever to the down position.  If that test fails, time for a new valve. Re
