[MBZ] Crack in a valve cover

I scrounged a valve cover from the 300D at PnP the other day. OM617 engine and the thing looked ok enough to pick it, but there was the standard coating of grime. I washed it off and got some 000 steel wool to buff it prior to going to town on a full shiny polishing. There is a crack, looks

I have given up the fight on trying to get the regulator out of the passenger side of Allen. The motor does not spin up, so the window is not lowering, which would make it all simple to remove. I think the motor froze, as when power is applied, there is a click or grunt but no motion. clay
