In theory you can, but the tools for watermarking do noy exist yet, you
would need to write them yourself (which would hook into the YUV4MPEG
stream just like yuvscale, yuvdenoise or others, and modify the video
stream accordingly).

Just choose a norm and a frame rate, and you should be fine - mpeg2 can't
encode that framerate, so you need to content yourself with either 25 fps,
or use a frame resampling mechanism (maybe that's possible already ?)

I don't know very much about this since I don't have a DVCam on my own,
but I think there were some changes in libDV - if you need DV-support, you

configure-switch to turn it off ...

There you find the latest drivers, they are external from the kernel
(that means, you don't use the older drivers from the kernel,
Regarding your libmovtar-compile error (have stored your error messages)
Did you "make install" movtar ? Otherwise it won't be able to find the
movtar linking options ...
Otherwise just ignore movtar - it's not such an important library, and
that's a remark from the author ;)
