is it just me, or does the mouse seem like a deer in headlights being on a
major label?
the billboard feature is little uneasy, plus the packaging is a bit much.
but maybe i'm over-reacting.
i love the new album, but i guess i'm just worried that they'll get squashed
in the major-label cycle.

Well, I gotta say, my first reaction to the album made me sick to my
stomach. I thought to myself, "Oh my god, Epic has just ruined one
of the greatest bands around today." I wanted to write them a letter
telling them so. I thought it was overproduced, way more
depressed-sounding, and I

dramamine was pretty amazing, but yeah the crowd was pretty unimaginative.

I think the IFC promo for "Fishing with John" says it all:

I can see people not digging the new album, it does sound a lot
different from their older stuff. But make no mistake, MA sounds
EXACTLY like Isaac and the band want it to sound, it has nothing to do
with what Epic wants. Brian Deck, the guy who produced the album, is the

No kidding. I think if modest mouse had the money, they would have sounded
like "The Moon Antarctica" from the beginning. Isaac has said that this is
the sound they've always wanted, but couldn't afford. In that sense, it may
be the first "real" Modest Mouse album... that is, Modest Mouse as

Okay, well I have total faith in Modest Mouse, so as long as the
album is exactly how they want it and not how someone else made them
make it, I won't go and kill anybody just yet. Except maybe the

speaking of weezerwhat does everyone think of their first self titled
album vs. pinkerton??? i only own the first one and wanted to know what
everyone though tof the comparisons...
I love Pinkerton...even more than the blue album, actually. lyrically, it
kicks the blue album's ass.
one of the best vinyl inserts would have to be the lyric sheet for US
Maple's "Talker" LP... come to think of it, drag city usually does nice
packaging, even on CDs.
