I first checked 180th Marsh today, and had some great looks at 3 Virginia

came out numerous times. David saw a Sora briefly. Larry Sirvio and Greg had
seen them earlier, and we saw shorebirds that were flying and landing

Around 6:15 this evening the 5 American Avocets on the southwest side of
White Bear Lake were flushed by an eagle and flew off in an unknown
direction. My attempts to relocate the birds elsewhere on the lake have so
far proven unsuccessful.

This afternoon, Tuesday April 30 I observed two rafts of ruddy ducks on Lake

This years Salt Lake Birding Weekend had possibly the best weather experienced

Also on the large lake yesterday were two Common Loons, which I've rarely
seen there. Then again, I've rarely seen Horned Grebes at Crosby, but it
does seem like a reasonable "rest-stop" for migrants.

Following the directions of Doug Kieser, we went to the Wahibo marsh last night
