So three months ago I made a simple performance test with amqsblst. I
connected two local qmgrs on Win2K and I sent messages in difference
size (1*1 KB, 10*1 MB) w/ and wo/ SSL.
My observations was next:
- significant slowing on small messages (50%)
- minimal difference in performance on

Hi!
I have attached the FDC file. I hope someone can get anything out of it.
I am definitely at a loss here.
I also checked the logs. Nothing but these two entries in

IMHO it's a bad idea to use this approach. It gives you no admin
flexibility to redirect messages, and I think you need to authorise all
users doing it to be able to write directly to the XMIT queues.
Far better to ALWAYS use a QREMOTE definition.
That said however, you still get the problem
My apologies, I quoted the wrong Support Pac number. It's not MP16, it is
in fact MP1D.
MP16 = Capacity planning and tuning for MQSeries for OS/390 (well worth a

MP1D = MQSeries for z/OS Version 5 Release 3 - Performance report (contains
SSL figures)
Thanks to Mike for keeping me right.

I ran into the same problem. I used the old cmqb.bas. I've also tried to
use both versions with VB.Net, but I had to do a lot of editing and
tweaking of cmqb to make it work, it was hardly worth it (and of course,
unsupportable). Hopefully there will be a .NET version coming out soon..

I always define remote queue defs,
Exactly what we do too! We execute a proc that executes a program that
demands a job based on a parm.
Here is a sample process definition
DEFINE PROCESS('PR.H_HAL_010_BILL_OF_LADING.000') +
DESCR('Process for batch job H1MPU09P') +
APPLTYPE(MVS) +
APPLICID('// EXEC
point well taken in our case the request/reply scenarios are simple
straight forward and have a single qmgr requesting and a single qmgr
replying - thanks.
definitely makes me think though maybe requiring remote queue defs is more

I still think until
