So now that I know that there's no place around to take courses and where to
take the exam I've decided to teach myself and I have two quick questions.
1. what do I need to know for the exams?
2. would it be better to practise on a UNIX-bases system?

Using InnoDB on version 4.0.18
Firstly.
It's possible to get information on a table. Which includes the number
of rows. This returns instantly.
However, if I do a SELECT COUNT(*) on the same table, this can take a

Add the following lines to your my.ini
Why use WinMySqlAdmin to view databases? The MySQL Control Center has a lot more
features and its usage is very straight forward.
If you are referring to the name that you gave it the first time you ran it then I
don't know. I'm curious about how to set it myself.

Quick Question Here:
I think I may have figured out my little problem with the thing wanting to

What's wrong with the RH mysql version? I've been using it for 5
months without a problem.
Hank,

the install CD in) No kernel re-compile needed.

website. I need filesize >2GB support. I really wanted to use Solaris, but
there are no drivers for my RAID adapter (long story). I was considering
NetBSD, but I don't know it well. I was then back to thinking
running isamchk -eis and -o gives me following
output
1) impossible length!!! does anyone got this before?
2) recordspace used: 100% ??? what does this mean?
I have plenty of space on my hard drive
# isamchk -o trend_data
- recovering ISAM-table 'trend_data.ISM'
