You could try reducing your color depth. I have an older NVidia
card that didn't work well for HDTV, but I was able to get it working
by changing the color depth from Millions of Colors to Thousands of

a couple of times now, my mythtv box (combined back/frontend) has
locked up. I'm running FC4 as per Jarods guide. The hard drive
activity starts going crazy, and the box stops responding to any
input. This happened this evening, and 2 recordings stopped at 21:46.
I rebooted the box and checked

I have a similar setup. a celery 2.4, with a 120gb drive just for the
recordings, using a pvr250 to capture from sky. I added a second card,
a win tv nova-t dvb card, and unless I'm ripping a dvd at the same
time, it happily records 2 programs and watches one at the same time.

transcode is slightly slower than ffmpeg for most stuff, significantly
slower for mpeg stuff. imho, the quality from transcode is better, though.

Have you ever tried hooking a cable box up to a computer monitor with a DVI cable?
Did it work? No?
That's the copy protection in action.

Remove the ivtv ones and rerun depmod -a
