My two-tube clock is a V5.3 as well, and has been running for just over 15 years. It uses 120VAC, with no external transformer, so I guess that's now considered "dangerous". However, I'm still alive. The inverted 2 has always bothered me as well, and a lot of the "turn-key" clocks seem to use
