Where do I begin? First was having no local mail delivery. I thought

Yes, you need Samba. Lot's of resources on how to set it up as a domain
controller exist already.
I'm running ARK on KDE, and it seems to handle .rar very well.
I havent actually tried to create a rar archive with it yet, but I know it
works ok for opening!
