I chose the 3Ware card that supports 2 drives because the Mandrake
distribution of linux is compiled with the drivers for that card ... at
least they were in 9.1.
It installed without a hitch and is working nicely.

I think he means a compiled COBOL program that runs under DOS (as opposed to
Win).
The modules developed under this system had some pretty serious runtime
modules that had to be installed on the machine that was going to run it. I
might consider a rewrite among my best choices.
