What other info do you need from me to let me know
The Mandrake tools are written using GTK. This means that you will
have to change your GTK theme (different from KDE themes) to affect
them. KDE2 has an option in their Control Centre to apply themes to
non-KDE applications. You can use this, or you can install a proper
GTK theme using the GNO
Can anyone please offer some advice on how to change the color scheme for
rpmdrake or MandrakeUpdate? I realize this isn't that essentially of a
request, but my eyes are really sensitive and I keep the rest of my desktop
pretty dark until I start either of these apps. Then I get fairly blinded.

I tried the other thing I was talking about .. no

Did what you said to do and miraculously, I

Denis you are a riot! Great fun!
Truthfully, is "Denis2" right, is this a viable alternative
to what you were saying to do. Especially since the
boot disk created during install doesn't work at all.

Hi Paul (Denis2 :)
I will try this out.
I thought I would also try just leaving the
owner as root, but allow writes by the group users to see
if that would work.
Do you think this would work too?
Thanks

BambiI suppose, I've not tried it that way because when
you create a new user it assigns the ownership to .kderc as
.. The root.root ownership of .kderc only
occurred when creating new users during the 7.0 installation.

how to fix this small problem.

would another solution be to leave it to owner/group
as root/root and check the click boxes to allow groups
and/or others to write, execute, etc.?
Just a thought.

Glennthe owner.group for your /home/glenn/.kderc file are
probably set to root.root and need to be changed to
glenn.glenn. This was a bug in the 7.0 iso that got fixed in
the 7.0-2 iso. It only happens to user accounts created
during the install.
