A little history first; I bought a brand new '02 NH 750 in Jan '02. I
rode the bike for 2-3 years, then passed it along to my son when I
moved on to bigger bikes. I'v been thru a Concours, St1100 and
currently have a Valkyrie. Nice bike, but not much of a commuter.

I use a spitfire windshield. It's small but it keeps the majority of the
wind from pushing on your chest and still gives you some airflow.

The spitfire is also quickly and easily removable without tools. I put one

Hello everyone here my name is Lucas. I have a CB650SC and have been

my college campus and I've recently found my bike tipped over in it's

Hey, he's kinda like Kyle. We can start a group with *yle as our name.
On a more serious note, they do make alarms for when your bike gets moved,
but by the time your bike is moving, it'll be on the ground anyway.
Maybe sit outside with a paintball gun for a little while one of these
nights.
You're right, we need to catch them in the act. How about the string runs to
a net in a tree over the bike covered in bells, and a cat. That should
detain them briefly while making a bit of a ruckus to get your attention.
Can you park near a tree?

So you put the pitbull in the tree, attached by the same string to the cat,
the net, and the bells. Now you've got the punk knocking bikes over trapped
in a net, ringing bells, a cat stuck to his head, and a pitbull trying to
get to the cat...
More seriously, the only alarm I've found is this one
I could just hide in the tree with a paintball gun.probably be less
convoluted but more expensive.

I just bought my 1982 650 Nighthawk and love it! I was wondering if
anyone had any good sites to go too for OEM parts and even aftermarket
parts. I noticed a wide variety of pipes on various photos of these
bike and would like to know if there is any preferred aftermarket pipe
for the 82 650.
There was a writeup on this some time back, and I think Dennis was the one to
explain it. I think he mentioned the exciter coils or something like that. It
is weak and quits when it gets too hot.

For most bikes an alarm system would drain the battery too much, I think. The
apartment complex next to the storage facility where I work part - time has had
a rash of bikes stolen of late and many have started storing their bikes in the
smaller units. It may mean a little bit of a walk, but
I fixed it!!!
Many thanks to everyone's suggestions, but mostly to Dennis as it was his
suggestion that sent me in the right direction. I got a buddy at my old job
to print out the wiring diagram on the plotters at 36 x 48 so I could *SEE
* it. I knew the problem had to involve both the starter
Considering the high revs the engine attains, I would definitely put it back
also. I think it would keep oil slinging into the sump from being
aerated, which would thereby reduce the effectiveness of the oiling of critical
components - like the crank, mains, rods, - actually, all of the fast
I'm glad to hear that you fixed it. I'll have to scan my wiring diagram onto a
D sized sheet next time. I used the one in my book with colored pencils to
trace my short. It would be easier this way. HotrodMamma.

Especially one the size of the diagram for the beastly Hawkit needs to be
bigger. (Then there's the way that one wire changes colors when passing thru
several relays and one must keep track of all that business too...)

If you're reading the Clymer manual the colors don't matter anyhow since
they're probably wrong in the first place ;) Luckily my new bike came with
the Honda manual thrown in with the deal.

Now we're talking! Why not turn the whole bike into a taser? Hook up a large
capacitor to the frame, when the punk touches it to knock it over he
completes the circuit to ground and ZAP! This might also discourage meter
maids from giving you a parking ticket.

I've seen ignition coils hooked up to door handles and such. The down side is
that they can stop your ticker. Finding some cretin still attached to my bike
and having attained ambient temperature might be just a bit off-putting.
