Both LCDs on my 650 were dead, I took apart the instrument cluster to try
and find out why but didn't. I ended up finding a new gauge cluster on eBay

They all inhale. Dirt and dust get under the bag and the movement abrades the
paint. How about a tank rack like the 60's Triumphs used ? When I have to
carry too much stuff, I go back pack.

If you can get the pattern, no problem. Get a machine shop to cut it out of
stock. No way would your arm hold up to a hacksaw job. Try making a pattern out
of cardboard. Must be about 1/8~3/16" thick aluminum (he says .300") . Any shop

The overhangs are very practical. They make for more points to attach to. I use
the OEM racks and they don't have tie-down points. That guy did a fine job. Raw

I have tried ebay, 3 salvage yards (waiting to hear back from the one
listed above,) craigslist, and various google searches. I did find a
night hawk forum web site which I was excited to see, however I
haven't come up with anything. I did find a set on ebay, but they
were being sold for $150.
I just sent them an email. Thanks for the tip. I am new to
motorcycles in general and have not yet really found a good source for
parts.

Amsoil has a toll free number. Call them and ask, because all their oils are
formulated differently. They at Amsoil do recommend 20-50 for some bikes, but
I think they are Harleys, Beuels (spelling - ?), and some others. Hondas and
several others, if I recollect rightly, take a lighter grade.
