The bike only makes 70 ish HP, it is not a modern super sport. Don't expect
it to act like one. It will burn out if you stand up with the front brake
locked and put it in 2nd gear then rev it up and pop the clutch, do it
wrong and your in a world of hurt. It will also wheelie if you clutch it up

took off, his would be an amazing crash. If you want speed get a ST1300. I
did 130 in a flash without hardly trying. Also did a wheelie with trying.
I have the same bike.. mine will do about 105 with me on it (about 220
lbs), but I have seen my bike do about 115, but I've never been able to
spin the back tire on blacktop, dirt, grass, mud, etc though. If your
carbs aren't tuned right, you won't have good power, if your plugs aren't

On the Goldwing, which has a driver backrest, I used to stand with my left
leg on the peg, which will give enough room to throw my right leg over the
whole thing.

What's the other mounting style? Genuinely curious.
My typical load would probably be 7-10 pounds. That's a laptop, cord, case,

For $1500 - I would think the extras would be worth it alone - let
alone being 10 years newer - plus it has about half the miles.
I'd say that was the better deal.
Thoughts?

stock windshield, and no trunk. I got them to $3,000 with seat.

Have you ever ridden one of these bikes that is tuned well? While I didn't have

Hook a mighty vac down at the caliper and pull vacuum with it while pumping the
brake lever, that will speed up the process. Bike master cylinders only pump a
tiny amount of fluid per pull, without vacuum to help it along it can take an
hour to fill the brake lines the way you were doing it.
