Looks like it's wet, and I'm sure the rat's nest came about from trying to
compensate for something simple, like a bad ground.

I believe that whole bike is a 550, it's got the stepped seat and round
gauges. Either it's had an engine swap, or more likely, the seller
misstated the size.

had lost the english portion of the owner's manual (I live in Ontario,
Canada).
So glad to have this resource.
Haven't had a ride yet as the owner dropped it off: ran out of gas, oil

The earlier Nighthawk 250s were sealed beam and later ones H3. They can be
converted as well (my '95 CB250 was converted to the H3 headlight by a
previous owner).
Not sure if there's a point to waterproofing the front of the headlight
when you've got that huge hole for the wires in back...
Fired my '84 750 up yesterday - no tach.
I suspect it's just a bad connection, but if anybody has suggestions it
might save me tearing it apart.

I can think of a few on both side. Personally I prefer to keep a cushion
between me and the car ahead and will stay on one side of the lane to allow me
an escape route in case I need it. This of course requires a lot of mirror
looking, and sometimes that's tough.
A friend of mine got rearended while 2up on a bike at a red light. It hurt
his back and shoulder pretty bad (back from the impact, shoulder from
lifting the bike off of himself during the adrenaline rush) and he couldn't
ride for about a year until he healed. When I stop behind cars at a light I
I follow the same sort of procedure (moving to one edge of the lane,
looking the mirrors, etc). The problem I have is that I am not sure that I
will be able to reach fast enough. The second time I got read-ended, and I
was sitting on a red light. I looked at mirror and this guy was clearly

I lived in Japan for a long time. In Tokyo, all bikes go to the front under
the traffic light, either along the curb or down the middle. It's standard
operating procedure, and everyone accepts and expects it.
It wasn't easy to keep behind the cages for me when I first moved back
here, though
Plenty of guns here in TX but I'd be more worried about open doors or just
fenders. I've seen more than one car quickly swerve in a traffic jam just
to stop bikes from passing on the shoulder.
