My 450 has had since I got the replacement carbs on it a seep from one
carb. Therefore I got into the habit of turning my fuel petcock off at
the end of my street and riding home on the carbs. (about 1/4 of a
mile) this would actually drain the carb without running

I have only ever turned off my fuel when I put the bike in long-term
winter storage, is there another reason I should turn off the petcock
when parking the bike for a couple of days?

They told us at my MSF course this summer that you should turn it off in
case your carbs are malfunctioning. If the float gets stuck open, then fuel
will overflow, and it could even go down the intake into the engine.
Every time we got off the bikes, it was kill switch, ignition, fuel petcock;
and
I always use my kill switch to turn off the bike. When I took the
Motorcycle Safety Course here in PA they instructed us that it is the
preferable way to turn off the engine, for one you don't have to let
go of the handlebars to turn it off but more importantly it keeps the
kill switch contacts in
the only one that actualy uses the kill switch?

Nope. I've still got the stock 4 into 4 setup, but the crossovers are
pretty rusted so I'll be switching that for a mac 4 into 1 before
long.

I actually find the 4 muffler set up is a bit busy. I'm definately
going to go with a black canister setup. Less places to burn my legs
as well. ;^)

spinning over is set the kill switch back to run. I've had ATC's
freeze in the off position. I had to wait until the sun came up and
warmed everything up. Causing me to miss the morning hunt.
