Well, I strip the minimals to less than 30MB, removing all the fonts
except latin modern (in fact I can remove that 10mb too because I
fully depends on commercial fonts), and all the
pdftex/metapost/xetex/ruby/perl... stuff. Now

readjusting all the text in Gvim, F3 to running

why does it produce the warnings
looks forward (unless you
do trickery which in itself has side effects)
- PDF/X output
pdftex is mostl pdf/x (depends on what trickery the macro package does)
- color profile conversions
tex treats graphics as abstractions which is why it could survive so long

I wrote a simple context file for pdf form filling. Translates fine, but the
resulting pdf simply shows text but no fillable forms. What's needed to
actually get forms?

to install my first fonts in ConTeXt
for pdfTeX, XeTeX and LuaTeX make the life easier but you should
have to tried to install a font with tfm and map files :-)
You should search in the list archives with the keyword typescript
