User IDs are encrypted strings that only contain digits. They don't always
start with zero, and you should only rely on IDs you got from previous

UPDATE: the next orkut release has a small improvement to this issue: users
in the old UI are affected by this bug as much as users in the old UI (as
opposed to the currently live implementation which penalizes old UI users).
That means users who come to the AppInfo page from the apps directory
Evidence points to Firefox + app reviewer fighting for RAM and sending each
other to disk swap. If that's true, it should be fixed soon -- at the
expense of periodically killing Firefox, which will lead to slower review

we're having a hard time reproducing this error.
With Robson's example gadget we get a 403 instead of 502, because of
the authz="signed". Also, it seems that there's a bug in Shindig for
parsing/reconstructing URLs -- when a / is absent after the
hostname, '/null' is set as the path.
It's indeed broken, a bug request was opened. It's too soon to comment
on what's coming next to the Developer page, but I can say we're

As far as I can tell, just switching type="url" to type="html" should
work. The gadgets server will fetch the URL, but it will parse its
content and use it as if it were inside the tag.

of "app not whitelisted", that has haunted us for about three months
now. The problem is not solved, but we managed to restrict it to a
very little corner. It will be gone by the end of the year.

should be blocking but wasn't. Right now the priority is protecting
the users, so no automated reviews. Again everyone pays for a handful
of bad apples.

initializing canvasView with gadgets.views.ViewType.FULL_PAGE and
