Well we did not buy any application packages.
Currently we are using open source product ...which

btw, Oracle 10g can add new servers to your database's tier like plug and play (same

This is what the guy at Oracle 10g seminar told me. He said what an administrator need

Why free memory in

Why these "free

RDBMS can't make use of this space?
everything are in terms of Oracle Block, you can release and reuse the blocks.
Well maybe quite difficult to get long continuous blocks, but it still free space, I

Hi,
Restartup your database if possible.
If you set the datafile autoextent on then you have to recreate that tablespace,
if you set it to not autoextent on for some query may fail due to not enough sorting
space.

Not only is it not supported, it has been know on
occasion to trash a database.
I tried it years ago, several procedures could not
be recompiled after doing so
them copy to tape.

Hi,
The logic should be like this
1. tablespace begin backup
1a. archive log current
2. suspend database (or sleep)

Hi,
I don't know the syntax you are looking for but you could explicitly rename
(like subscribing).

Hi
Santosh,
Tablespace is logical storage, datafile is physical storage (OS
file).
Tablespace mustconsists of at least 1 datafile.
Example
Create
tablespace my_tablespace
datafile 'my_tablespace's_datafile1'
NB:
Storage is storing your database objects
