Two Questions...

I'd try running './SetPermissions.sh otrs apache' and omit the last
two optional arguments. Why do you even use apache for the OTRS_GROUP?
I've tried doing that, resulting in this output:[EMAIL PROTECTED] bin]# ./SetPermissions.sh /opt/otrs otrs apacheSetPermissions.sh $Revision: 1.27 $ - set OTRS file permissionsCopyright (c) 2001-2004 Martin Edenhofer

where httpd runs as the otrs group/user

Not much, here's the output from the latest entries regarding otrs.Pretty much the same errors reported on the webpage.Maybe I should try to get the webserver running as otrs/otrs and see if that helps, don't know
if it is possible though.[error_log][Wed Jun 07 16:35:01 2006] [error] [client

It may be possible, but I have it all working with apache just
running as apache. What are the permissions and owners of /opt/otrs/
I guess the OTRS rpm isn't really going to work on your CPanel box
without a lot of tweaking and moving files etc. Maybe you're better off
doing an install from the source tarball following the instructions.
Yeah, it's more work. Or try a non-CPanel box.
I am trying to install from a tarball.

Could this be a problem with step 6? Webserver configuration? I
don't think so but I don't know. All I actually did was add these 2
lines:
Alias /otrs-web/ /opt/otrs/var/httpd/htdocs/
Alias /otrs/ /opt/otrs/bin/cgi-bin/
to the very bottom of httpd.conf
What now?

Maybe the key is Options +ExecCGI?

There is a very easy wau to do this:
Go to the SysAdmin section of the OTRS, search
Customer::ModuleRegistation and edit the NavBar according to your needs.
This is a very simple and safe way to do it.
