We have a Python tool for this called baton on Github (under the ZKMKarlsruhe
group).
In this case, a native app only makes sense if you deploy to the App Store.
TestFlight still involves too many steps for use by a general audience IMO.

You can set the font using -font-family on the command line. Also, I wouldn’t
take that approach as Pd packages on Linux distros *should* have DejaVu Sans
Mono as a dependency. If they don’t, the problem lies with the packaging and
not with Pd.

runs ok, so the fault lies there.
