Last week I went to a talk and slide show given by Elliott Erwitt.
Somebody asked him who were the main influences on his photography.
All the usual suspects was his reply.
The same reply applies to this question. There are too many to be able
to single out one photograph. For me it's
Impossible to answer. Depending on my mood, there are some HC-B photos
that could be a favorite, but then Elliott Erwitt has a few photos that
are memorable, as does PJG, WES (who may be my favorite photographer -
he was certainly a great influence), Dickey Chappelle, Chim, Salgado,

The favorite one that I own is Ruth Orkin's American Girl in Italy 1951 -
I have a 20 x 30 print on my lounge room wall. The fact that it was posed
and not the candid shot that it appears to be doesn't bother me in the
slightest.

It's basically a good idea with a reference image library. However, the PDML
member base changes constantly so if the members today buy the book
tomorrows members won't have a clue. Why not try to use the web instead? We
have the PUG as a common library, there are also lots of other sites with

Fine Art. (I just reexamined a Gallerie print that has deep black
shadows.) But it was printed with an Epson 1200. However, I think the
1200 and 870 use the same type of ink.

The difference between a pigment and a dye is one lays down semi-solid
particles of colors that stick to the surface of the paper and the other is
a dye that soaks into the paper and stains it.
From what I've read, I would try Somerset Velvet (a really nice, white, art
paper). My epson is
Eammon McCabe's table tennis player. You know, the b/w shot printed long,
thin, and vertical. Simple superb.
EM was partly my inspiration way back when.

indeed. Nice composition, colours, textures, lighting. Just what I need as

the same with the Kodak lens cleaning solution.

For those who have both cameras, which is easier for manual focus wide angle
lenses? 0.8X vs 0.75X viewfinders seem to have quite a differerce. I have
the Z-1p and its 0.8X viewfinder is still okay (but not great) for manual
focus, but the 0.77X MZ-M has driven me crazy.

You are not alone. Agfa RSX is my favorite slide film. I prefer it over
the Velvia and Kodak offerings. I am saddened that Agfa quit producing
Ultra 50 in 35mm. I also like their Optima II films.
