You are right - 40mm is a lovely focal lenght. The diagonal of a 35mm neg is
close to 43.3mm. I suppose it's very close to what we might call a normal
lens - neither wide angle nor telephoto.

The big puzzle, to me, is why does Pentax say the DA 40mm does not

I upgraded the firmware in the new *ist D
this afternoon, noting that in the 'read
this' Pentax recommend using the mains
adapter. I plugged in the hefty 6V 12 AH lead
acid gel battery and did the job. Half way
through the process (2nd stage) there was a
total power failure. There you are.

It can put in you own logo and text etc. and there's quite a lot of editing
posibilities.

Yes, I've had no problems with the 12-24 and the firmware. I don't use the
Pentax Photo Browser. The Adobe Raw Converter gives me the focal length at
which I shot. If I need to know what lens I used, I can usually identify it
