harder to avoid overexposure/blown out highlights. I usually regard JPEGs as
slides, RAW as negs.
I have BTW noticed that I'm not the only one who normally underexposes
deliberately by 0.3-0.5 F-stop. (I shoot RAW

image stabilization, RAW format capture available. If you're willing
to carry a little bit more, a Konica Minolta A200 is fantastic. About
half the weight of a Pentax DS with 18-55 lens, about 30% smaller

and two of Bruce Fraser's Real World Camera Raw with Photoshop CS2

Yes, it's an SDHC card. Some time back I posted a message I received from
Pentax stating that they will provide a firmware upgrade for current
cameras once the SDHC standard has been established and implemented. I'd
be very surprised if the new cameras didn't take advantage of these newer

Go to www.adorama.com, look for Pentax lenses. Notice the price after
rebate. Adorama has subtracted the rebate valid to 6 July *and* the one
valid *from* 1 July. But surely you won't get both? I'd check if I were
living in the US, though...

I think I understand now. Like Shel said, I haven't been paying close
enough attention. I have underestimated how far to the right that I
should be pushing the histogram curve. I'll make some corrections now
that I shooting RAW.

look at the LCD screen these days, when the blinkies were on and i did
look, it was distracting.
