It's a very nice, small camera. I can't wait to try it.
However, I need to get the MR44 adapter-kit (replacement for the PX675
batterey, it was designed for). I have ordered this from the UK - the Small
Battery
I finally ordered the D-BG 2 battery grip and an extra D-LI50 battery, for
the K10D.
I was surprised that the prices for these things seem to vary a lot - like a
100%.
I don't really need the extra power - there's something like 1000 shots in
one battery charge - and I rarely do more than 1000

exactly my thinking. It's like a flaw in the jewel. IMHO for that price
and quality level Pentax should provide matching metallic rear caps as well.

Well, my MZ-6 is by backup camera since the time I got my *istD.
To me it is different enough to be worth as a backup body. It is
extremely easy to use and I quite like the results I get from it, though
it happens extremely not often ;-).

I've followed a similar principle for about thirty years, although
for quite some time I kept the same backup body (100% mechanical)
1976 .. MX
1978 .. MX + ME (later MX + ME Super)
1983 .. Super Program + MX
1995 .. PZ-1p + MX
2001 .. MZ-S + PZ-1p
2003 .. *ist D + MZ-S
2006 ..

pressing the button).
I also discovered that I had the contrast set to +1. This may partly have
caused the burned out sky/the missing clouds.
