Do you know why they call it "beta"?
(you have to pronounce it the Greek way, not americanized [bi:ta])
Because it's "better than nothing".
(it's an old one, and not mine.)

Thanks for the comments, Larry.
Apparently, the peak last night was closer to 8:40 PM CDT.
This shot (taken by a storm chaser from Wisconsin) is stunning:

I don't know Frank, in some ways I like this one even better than the
ducks.I like the way the sun is breaking through the fog a little in the
skyline. If anything I might have cropped this a little tighter so the
wake of the kayak is just above the bottom . But YMMV.

That is perhaps explained by the copyright notice:

Clicking on that notice, by the way, takes you to an Error 404 page at:

Mark,
But the UFOs (as being more adanced) have figured out how to get onto
digital.
Time-to-time, UFOs show in my shots, especially after
changing lenses in a dusty environment.

I don't know if anybody noticed on the front pages of the website:
"Featured Collection:
As we prepare for Winter, let's take in the beauty of fall.
Peruse this colorful gallery of Fall across the globe."
After clicking on the link "Browse Collection", you see "Winter" !!
I got an Aurora Alert from the UK at about 7 PM, but wasn't able to
get out of town until closer to 10 PM to see if the camera could pick
any up from Nebraska (a relatively rare event). It seems that I was
just in time to see the end of the show and the closing credits roll.

Why no gears, why no brakes?

I think part ii is a far stronger image.
In the original my eye is conflicted and wants to jump back and forth
between two different subject areas. In part ii I don't get that.

were there, they were just scattered about the screen. Mostly left-justified

I think that the submission page is easier than the old one, and it
seems faster, even though you now must submit one image at a time. It
now automatically lists the type of camera, but not the lens. I was
unable to specify the lens, even though there is a place for doing
that. I also don't see
