Rather than start a new OT Sony thread, I think I'll just resurrect
this one. I continue to be a wee bit fascinated by what Sony is doing
with their a7 line. Despite the similar naming convention, they
aren't the same camera (at all) but each seem to have a radically
different sensor inside and

Actually most lenses that aren't retrofocus put out a fairly flat
field. Longer lenses are telecentric by design. The curved sensor
approach doesn't work with telecentric lenses since the light rays are
all parallel. You need a matched lens to get real benefit from it and
the benefit comes in

Life is too short to put up
Always something cool about pics of museum goers. I see headphones in
one photo. I have tried those at some museums but headphones or those q
codes for a cel phone detract from the experience. If I want more
background or analysis I prefer to use other sources after my viewing.
Wonder if

users, although not curious enough to put a pair of community headphones
on my head.

The lighting seems very flat though - like you shot using a polarizer. Probably
the type of fur he has. I'm not very familiar with cats :)

Wendy, the flat look would be from the light pointing straight at him
from pretty much directly over my head, and his unusual fur. The
Russian Blue breed has a double coat: a soft, matte undercoat, and a
guard coat with silver tips. You can see a brilliant sheen around him
if he's backlit, so I'll
