In that case, US prices for cameras probably aren't applicable either.
I'd still expect a good PC to be available for less than the price of a DS.

If you do go the card reader route, try to find a relatively slow one. That
will have a better chance of working with Win 98SE. I don't know if any will
work with non-SE versions.

PS 7.0 is workable on 98SE ... I ran it, but with only one hard disk and
not a lot of memory, it ran poorly with large files. TIFF, PSD, as well as
JPEG were able to be run, but with an istDS, the only file format that can
be used would be JPEG.

I can confirm 98se should work OK.
98 or 95 however or dead dead and dead.
Oh and BTW, don't even think about Me, if you want something else than
an Blue Screen factory ;)
But really 2K can run honestly (not recommended but...) on a
300Mhz+256MB ram and a fast HDD.

Just to be sure, I double-checked the requirements for using the istDS, and
it seems that you need newer software than Win98. Like it or not, it may
be time to upgrade your computer.
You'll get used to the menus. For the most part, once you've set the menu
options, you can use the camera by just

You may even need to update windows in order to use most Card Readers,
which require Me, 2000 or XP for the more comprehensive USB support
(many don't even work with Me). 98 is quite archaic.
