FFWD works for me but I find if you try to ffwd within the first about 30 secs of playing it will fail. So when you try to FFWD wait about 30 secs after audio has started and alsop make sure the buffering message has gone and see if that works. -- bpa

With RC5 is might get easy :) You just need the adress and command. Commands for volume up and down are 16/17. The adress can be found in the table here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RC-5. Don't know under what category your speakers fall, maybe 'preamp' (=16) ? As they are just 31

BBCiPlayer should not have audio dropouts as it does not play RealAudio. Gaps can occur due to buffering - are you getting buffering messages ? Buffering can be due to processor or network overload or poor LAN. What type of processor/system running SBS have you got ? -- bpa
