The musicmagic_mixable info appears to be working for me with 6.3. The
albums are processed separately from tracks, so it IS possible to have
an album that is mixable, when the tracks below are not (don't ask me
why, is this appears to be a musicIP thing). If the song registers as
"active" then
OK-
I found that if I do a "Clear library and rescan everything" while "use
MusicMagic" is enabled the songs show up as mixable. But, albums with
multiple artists are listed 2 or more times and each listing only
contains some of the tracks.

I forgot to mention that I was using SlimServer_6_3_x_v2006-05-20 before
and did not have any trouble with MusicMagic.

I have also been having problems with the MusicMagic integration using
6.2. If I did a db build without MM running, it was built correctly.
Using MM added duplicate entries to the library list, which was very
boring. I stopped using MM as a result.

I just upgraded to 6.3 slimserver build as of 2 days ago. I use MIP
(1.6 beta 3 I think or maybe 4).
I've also installed a new hard disk, so I had to rebuild my music
library. (I use MySQL for the db by the way).
I rebuilt the music library yesterday (which isn't very big - 2600
tracks), and I

OK, to do this, you open up the server "settings" menu in the slimserver
web browser.
On the next page you will see an attribute called something like "Music
library folder". Set that to blank, and then do a complete re-scan of
your music...

I'm still really struggling with this in 6.3.0. and 6.3.1. despite
Chris' helpful hints. If I leave my Music Library blank and rescan
(with "Use MusicMagic" On") I can get a complete list of my library
from MusicIP, but the songs aren't mixable. The MM appears next to the
album listing, but not

The second behaviour you describe with a 3rd of your collection not
mixable is what I was experiencing. I was quite suprised that my first
attempt fixed the problem - I was not expecting that.
Can I ask if you are using MySQL, or db packaged with Slim?
I'm using mysql 5.0 - I'm not
Do we know, is this a problem with slimServer or with MusicIP?

the musicmagic reload interval. I usually have it set to '0' b/c having
it set to anything else makes slim choke, so every once in awhile I'll
get the 'mm' symbol, but won't be able to make a mix. When this happen

Thats a good point that I forgot to mention - I have the MIP reload
interval set to 0. I see no reason to have it set otherwise, unless you
are frequently adding new music to MIP and having it analyzed.I've

Rolling back to the 6.3.0. nightly from 28 May (which was my "stable"
nightly) with MIP Beta rc4 works fine. A full clear and rescan and all
files are mixable.
My interpretation is that something has changed in Slimserver to cause

Now I'm experience problems with Music IP!!
Since I moved to SlimServer 6.3.1, as others here have mentioned, only
some tracks appear mixable. I've swapped between 6.3 and 6.3.1 several
times and the problem only happens in 6.3.1.

All my music is now mixable.
As Michael said, remove the "Music Folder" setting, so it is blank.
Re-scan your library, and hey presto, your music should now be mixable.
Put the correct path back in "Music Fold

I have MusicIP running as a service and it was also running as an
application.
MusicIP has 13,017 songs, SlimServer finds 11,943. Don't ask me to
reconcile the two difference.
I will try rescanning with MusicIP as a service only.

If Slim Server is already running, you are not able to get Music IP to
run as a server. After closing Slim Server and killing the slim
service, I was able to get the server started.

I tried this in 6.5 and nothing is mixable after a full scan. I also
have checked the "use iTunes" checkbox. Should I turn that off?
