You don't perhaps know where to get one for the 540?

I know you needed the cd key when loading from a cd...is there a reg
code required for this software as well? These are not copies but factory
made disks
Yes, there is a serial number you need to enter.
I seem to recall that Word/Office floppies (this is a LONG time ago,

I don't know but I'll try to forward it to the Newtontalk list for you
and ask them to direct any answers to you.

This is not a (strictly) PB Q: I tried to get on the Newtontalk list for a

Imran,
I'm not an expert but I did have a PB1400 for a few years so I can tell
you what I know and perhaps others more knowledgeable can add to it (or,
correct me as the case may be).
A. I need some ram. Pure and simple I gotta buy some PB ram for

While it is much-maligned in Mac circles, Word 6 serves me very well as a word
processor on my PowerBook 5300/40mb ram, used in conjunction with Word 2000 for
Windows on a desktop PC. You do need to download an extra filter to open documents
saved as Word 2000, but it's my impression that
Just reinstall iTools and you'll probably be back in business. You should not have to
setup a new account. I originally setup and account on my Mac at work but wanted to
access it from home and only had to take the installer home and run it on my PowerBook
there and I was in.
I've got a PB 170 running System 7.5.3. I picked it up for $10 because I
thought it would make a good system for use for typing up papers and the
like. My problems is that I have no idea what kind of word processor I
would get for it. I assume maybe some old version of MS Word, or
Appleworks.
Old MacWrite? Writenow 3? Both worked well with minimal RAM.

I had completely forgotten that I had managed to get uploaded the nearly
6MB PDF file explaining the innards of the PB1400.
If anyone still needs it, it can be found at:

Since you are new to the Mac universe, here are a few mouse hints.
Disclaimer: I really do not like two-button mice myself, as I teach both Mac
and PC beginner courses and the people are always accidentally
right-clicking and pulling up those confusing (to beginners) shortcut menus.

Hi all
I have a Powerbook 1400 coming in the mail and I just read there is a
internal slot for a external video or a Ethernet card. What kind of Ethernet
card can the 1400 use?
The internal slot is a custom slot, and can only take cards
specifically designed for it. These can usually be
