Recording on PB520

When I try to record on my 520 all I get is a screeching noise, no matter what combination of settings I try. The first time I used it it worked ok, but when I started experimenting with the settings, I got this screeching noise. Any suggestions? Thanks Arlis __

Thanks Tim But I'm afraid the unit it toast About a month ago I goofed forgetting the battery wasn't in place I pulled the AC cord while the 3400 was running. Doing this fried something. I thought maybe the power supply board and got a new one but no go its still quite dead. Thanks anyway Gary
