Greetings. I have a PB3400c running OS 9.2.2, 80MB RAM. I was
downloading and installing some software from the internet via
ethernet. I did a restart with the ethernet cable still connected.
It took a couple-three minutes to get my cursor back even though the

Hi
Recently, in my slew of upgrades for my 1400 I got a new 15 gig HD with OS
9.1 preinstalled on it. The system works well, however, I was hoping to
recondition the batteries I have, but can't find the utility. I looked on
my OS 9.0, 9.2.1 and OS 8.5 install disks, but didn't find the utility
I don't have the desktop pictures control panel on my Powerbook. I also
don't have the install files for OS 8 so I can't install it. can someone

I have a 5300c that came with 8.6; I wanted 7.6.1 and a HD with two
partitions. I used Apple's drive utility to create two partitions but
accidentally made one HFS+ and didn't notice until I had 7.6.1 installed and
got the Where have all my files gone deal. I installed 8.0 - same

I seem to remember reading that HFS+ could not be undone - will

Hi,
I just picked up a Duo 2300c from the LEM Swap list. It arrived with a
cracked left front (battery holder) and a 1 stripe of white pixels
that runs across the entire screen, about 1 down from the top.
Is there any way to fix these dead pixels? I've tried massaging the
screen and I've

Thanks for this. Dumping the AppleShare Prep alone did not have an
effect. However, I did find a couple aliases to servers in the Servers
Folder. I pulled those out. I also disabled AppleTalk, and yes, it's
much faster now!
But this raises a new question for me: I use an ethernet cross-over

While on this topic of powerbook battery performance I can report on

All,
Thanks for all the help off-list! I've gotten two kind souls who
have sent the software along. Many thanks.
Unfortunately, I can't get the adapter to work! I tried it on my

Greetings again. I just realized the slow start-up problem is indeed
due to the PowerBook trying to connect to a server that it cannot
access. As I mentioned, I typically establish a connection for file
