I've got a stock 1400/133 with 48 MB RAM and OS 8.1. I need to run MS

Can anyone give me a step-by-step procedure or maybe point me to any web
page telling how to install OS 7.6 on a PowerBook DUO from scratch? I tried
on both a Duo230 and a 280C, and both punked out on me with an error message
at the same point during installation.
Unfortunately, I don't have

going to 2001. Upgrading the amount of RAM may be the answer if you can.
Adding more memory for the application may help also. Be sure the other end
saves
I believe that you need an enabler on both machines to load 7.6, or any new
system. That is a little software program that may be on your cd now.
However, after several experiences, be sure that you run HDSC Setup so that you
update the hd driver. The system will not load if you don't and you

I checked every folder in the HD and on the desktop for their sizes and the

did another PRAM reset and found no difference - still 110MB short of my
calculations. I did a desktop rebuild - still no change. Where did those

Actually, I'm installing from floppies, not CD. At what point do I need to
get the enabler, and where and how do I install it? I know I'll need to get
it from Apple's FTP, but I imagine I can handle that. Do I install it before
installing the OS itself?
Thanks for the help, it's
