Application Disable Switch

I am going to offer customers a month to month fee for using an application. After a time of non-payment I want to disable the application until they catch up payment or decide not to use it any more. I would like the application to call a key located on my web site that would return a status

Where I work -they do it slightly different - although - I think its kinda strange. They have some kinda code that generates a new coded number each month - and this is for people that Lease the system. So - each month - they must call our office and ask for the coded number - to continue to us

Kind of like an issue I have now with a poker simulation program I have. I purchased it a while ago, and have a valid key for it - but after wiping my notebook and reinstalling it I find that the company appears to have closed up shop; their website is gone and the program can no longer valida

Lou: I have thought about that. If I go out of business and no one is taking on my customers they all get their source code and the activation code routine. It's all in a safe place with instructions for someone to carry it out. The Internet checking is only for customers that owe us money.

Mike, I think the best solution is an automated web solution with a phone option as a backup (in case a user needs to use the software while traveling or disconnected). The phone approach gives you the option of recording your conversation with the customer (with their prior approval, of course)
