Kids and work.
Kids and their schedules have put a greater emphasis on getting things done
when I can, rather than taking the time to ride around for shopping,
errands, etc.
Biggest thing though is my work schedule and timing changed right after I
bought them,
I have had a schmidt SON 28 hub on my bike for a little over a year now,
and until the other day there had never been a problem. I loved it, the
light is so bright and hassle free, no batteries and everything so
wonderful.
Then last night on my way home I noticed a low pitched vibrating

I mounted a Tubus rear rack to my Mystery Bike (which has ~54cm chainstays)

not his road bike. From my short distance, rear-load-only experience with
my Ram, I'd have to say that touring bike is a category that covers a lot
of ground. In my experience, the Ram could very nicely carry 40 lb of gear,
