Pretty fenders!!
Rivendell has been the fender champion for a long time so I'm surprised they
don't make sone of the bikes so the bridge is equidistant from the drop off.

I rode noodles for years using Campy Ergo Shifters. On my latest Roadeo, I
installed a Shimano 6800 group ( with Shimano std reach brakes). The
brifters are longer and I needed a shorter reach bar. If I had used a
shorter stem, the tops of the bars of the Noodles would have been useless.

I like the noodles. I like the dirt drop to. Both great bars as far as drops
go. They look good and make my bike happy. What else could you want.

Since people seem to be voting, I'll cast my vote. I want a couple of simple
things in a handlebar. I want a flat and short top that blends seamlessly into
Ergo levers and I want a hand position in the drops that's comfortable.

Just saw that Sierra Trading Post has gotten in A BUNCH of merino wool
t-shirts from Ibex. I just ordered a few! The supplies are pretty limited,
so doubt they'd last more than a few days. And most of them are about $40,
though the 87% wool/13% nylon shirt is just $25!

few years. They rise up from the stem, which is opposite

I like the noodle, but it's predecessor - the RM 13 dirt drop - is my
favorite. I had the former on my Rambouillet until this summer, and the
later on my Quickbeam. Every time I got on the Quickbeam, I was struck by
the contrast of how comfortable the bars were, and regretful that I didn't

The name growing on me. The headbadge is badass. As a quickbeam owner (that
is woefully neglected at the moment), I am super psyched about a new single
speed. I was in Tokyo the other week for work and really wanted to go to a
blue lug and wasn't staying too terribly far from one, maybe 2 or 3 stop
I really like the wing motif on the Frank Jones headbadge, and I freaking
love the ruler on the underside of the downtube decal. I hope that's real
and not just some printmakers reference. It's a terrific look, in my
opinion, and will look fine on the next revision of the poster that has all

I've had trouble with long-term comfort on Noodles; I came away from PBP in
2007 (ridden on Noodles) with hand numbness. I generally have better luck on
long rides with more traditional (flatter) bars.
However, my Singer came with Nitto randonneur bars, which are like Noodle bars
on steroids,

I found the Noodles quite comfortable, once I ditched the wide ones and
went back to 42s. I found I had to use a stem 1 cm longer, as they curve
back a bit from the flats. The drop is deeper than I personally like, but
the ramps are adequately long to be useful. At any rate, my wrists felt
fine.

The Noodle has worked best for me on all the drops I've tried. I have them
on 3 different bikes.

why we got the curvy seat stays--so we could make the chainsays the length
we wanted. The upper seat stay socket is cast into the lug, so isn't
variable. But structurally, it is SUPER.

Description of both being "roadish" does seem slightly suspect. It's
interesting that they intentionally cropped off the handlebars in the
photos of #5. A quick comparison tells me it might be similar to a 58cm
production Joe, which would fit roughly the same size. Top tube is
slightly shor
It's a little sad to me that there are people who would fail to enjoy their
bike if it had a different name. For what it's worth, Hunqapillar is a family
name that Grant saw on a mailbox on tour.

that's fit me, and I happen to think it is proportionally gorgeous with the
extra tube. But being "roadish geometry" and limited to 40mm tires, I'm
#s 4 and 5 are for about the same range of PBH and saddle heights, but they
are very different designs.
#4 is 58 x 57.5, 45 cm chain stays, a nearly horizontal top tube and 33.3mm
clearances
#5 has a 55 cm st with a 60 cm upsloping tt, Clemish chainstays, tires up
to 40mm and a longer head tube

I love my Joe Appaloosa with the cool horsey name and graphics; I think it's
fits well with the sky blue paint 'cause I picture a beautiful horse under a
