I did something similar to what Friend suggests. The front of my SKS fender broke off where I cut slots to allow my side pulls room around the fender. I simply used aluminum flashing and attached it to the bottom of the rack using the existing screws. Worked fine. I don’t have that setup anymore

Going to build up a '95 Road. It's due back in a week from a repair and re-paint. It was a triple and it's going to be a 50/34 compact double instead. 8 speed 11-34 in back or similar (cause I have them in boxes on the shelf) and a shorter reach Technomic stem instead of the Dynamic I had on it.

The problem is the brake vs the fender. When you open the brake's quick release, the brake pushes down on the fender and the fender onto the tire if you are maxing tire size. Cutting away the offending fender solves the problem, but so does using center pull brakes. I am considering a version
