This comment may be premature, but I hope Riv doesnt start making it a
habit to have only ONE color Rivs like the Gomez and Foy. What I mean
is that the headbadge needs the two tone to accent the steel lugs. So,
I do not mind that there is only one color frame, just dont try to

What Steve said, use a Carradice Nelson or similar size saddlebag in
the rear (if you want to use something by Rivendell, get the Sackville
Saddle Sack in a medium). No need for a rack, so you save a bit of
weight, and you should have plenty of room for all your stuff.

My solution was to immerse the freewheel in some kind of cleaning
solvent, agitate to float any dirt or impurities away, dry the
freewheel out and wipe it down, then lube the pawls with Phil Wood
oil. Lubing is done by dripping the oil into the gap between the
outermost cog and the freewheel body.
If I am understanding your problem, just add knee savers..I put
them om every bike I have ever had...why sell an Atlantis?

I highly recomme
+1 on the saddlebag. A Carradice Barley needs no rear rack on all but
the smallest of bikes and you can use
a Bagman for a larger bag like a Nelson Longflap or Camper.
Here is a link to my setup. I'm carrying everything for an extended
tour and the only rack on the bike is an Expedition Bagman.
I have never understood why Riv doesnt sell the Brooks B135. I have
tried alot of saddles and its the most comfortable of any. No, for
those who are worried about adding an extra 8 ounces, I can't save

Now that the Atlantis is built by Waterford in Wisconsin, it's
probably much easier and cheaper to special order odd sizes. When the
Atlantis was built in Japan, the cost of building one odd sized frame,
shipping it to the US and getting it through customs would have been
prohibitive.

My favorite "bargain" cranks are Shimano's FC-R4550. At one point, I had three
of them in service, but I'm down to just two sets (I sold one of the bikes).
The 4550s are non-series components, and can be purchased quite cheaply online.
The inner (34t) chainring has proved to be quite durable
If you're running a 36t rear cog, just go with a current-vintage SRAM or
Shimano unit. Sure, it won't be all-silver, but you also won't have to worry
about poor shifting, etc.
FWIW, the euro LX is quite heavy, and the stamped/bent steel pieces can develop
slop quicker than all-alloy units.

Truing rotors can be pretty difficult. Before attempting to true a rotor,
always make sure that the mounting bolts are properly tightened.

Same here. Part of the problem is the flexibility, and part of it is due to
the narrow clearance at the flap. Planet Bike's Cascadia fenders allow for
more clearance, and are far more rigid, but don't have the coverage of the
Longboards. Narrower tires will help with flap slap, but the inhere
