Christopher,
I can’t be certain, but I suspect that the APSmart units have the same
circuitry as the Tigo RSD units. I say that because of the press release
below. I suspect that the only difference is the enclosure, but that is merely
speculation. Interestingly, I worked for Tigo nearly a d

People need to contact me off list, and I will set up a process. I am
going to follow Brian's information as it is a great road map for this
to be effective. I would like to budget one week from today for
interested parties to contact me so we can get this going. Chris

That is a great offer. For the sake of our industry I hope it succeeds.
What is the next step? Please keep us in the loop.

I would like to suggest that interested WRENCHES form their own
"subcommittee" so that we can have an somewhat organized approach to
this issue. I do know Fronius has been working on this, and we should

I tell my grid friends to buy a Genset. If they can afford a roof

Brian, can you respond to the email regarding CMP and this issue?
Provide some guidance? Chris

All of these new code required safety features have a detrimental effect
on reliability. That's not a huge deal with GT, but off grid, this can
become a serious safety issue in itself, as the homeowner loses
communications, water, heat, and frozen food.

The Schneider RSD is decent. At least it is useable as a 600vdc disco.
The few offgrid homes that were required to use this had the Tigo units on

done, those went to Ebay. I never use a roof but have used a barn for

Carl,
Did you get any kind of joy out of APSmart on that failure?
I will say that their tech support guy did at least try to be helpful, but the
language barrier was really really steep and their distribution channels are
less than ideal. Their response to a request for compensation was that
Panels were: Silfab 330 BL @STC Isc = 9.83A, VOC = 42.24
RSD-S-PLC Input volt range = 8-80V Max cont input current =15A
So, panels are well within the operating range of the RSD’s.
