Here is my logs from Outlook Express when trying to send mail from a host
outside of the network. On RH70 this worked, now on RH72 it doesn't ? What
is diff between RH70 sendmail and RH72 sendmail ?

Does sendmail 8.8 support support auth. ? If so just enable it. Basicly all
your users will then be forced to auth. before they can send. Works for

No, you can mount a subdirectory. Perhaps this varies by

Not too likely that this will work, though, unless there's an active
connection. Most of the time, the ftpd is run from xinetd, and is only
started when a requested connection is made.

I agree that even if clients howl, upgrading for the sake of upgrading

manage better (perhaps through tyour account manager weenies) and set

I have both NICs installed but can only ping the interface on one of
them. If I try to ping the gateway it says it's unreachable. The other

Check that your default route has been properly setup. Do an ifconfig
to see
what IP is assigned to your ppp0, then a "netstat -r" to see if the

There is stateful which is iptables and there is stateless which is
ipchains. You can lookup the definitions on whatis.com to get more
detail's on both. You only need one nic for your firewall if your using
PPPoe, because the PPPoe is a virual (PPP0) adapter and your ethernet is
(ETH0)

filtering firewall. Proxy does not need two NIC cards to be installed.
But when you use filtering firewalls which acts as a router also then

(up2date). One of the server I upgraded to RH72. Both of these server used
to run auth. in sendmail and I could send email from anywhere, granted that
