Having a small drive, I installed a minimum X system with gimp and
abiword. However, abiword appears to need more--perhaps a different
window manager (e.g., Gnome?). I see the abiword suite directory and the
GNUstep directory in place. Perhaps it just needs to be configured
differently.

you can use both printer with RH7.3 if you use the CUPS system. At work we
use the C80 here, an it works fine, it is fast and print with a good
quality.

I can login from X Window but I cannot login in console mode - neither

I don't think the two have anything to do with each other really. 'xinetd' merely
